Makeda Dawson-Davis
Makeda Dawson-Davis is both an Ancient Song Doula Services (ASDS) and Doula Trainings International (DTI) trained and certified Birth and Post-Partum Doula. Makeda is a certified lactation counselor supporting expectant and new families throughout communities in Brooklyn, Queens, and Manhattan since 2014. She fully believes every birthing person should have the access and education at their disposal to make the choices for their best birth experience and as your Doula, Makeda is here to support your choices for your birth whatever they may be.
Makeda has supported birthing persons at home births, birthing centers and hospitals and is also comfortable supporting with or without pain medications. She is fully committed to listening to your desires and supporting your birthing decisions and working with you to realize your parenting goals. With her BA in African American Studies from Wesleyan University and a MA in Social Studies Education from Brooklyn College Makeda has always worked within the sphere of servicing families and connecting communities and she is happy to be able to enmesh these. passions in her Doula work.
